BELOW ARE SOME OF THE MORE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS, AND HOPEFULLY SOME OF THE ANSWERS:
Class Costs
Q) What do classes cost?
A) A six week course costs £42 (just £7 per class!) or £9 per class drop-in, bookable here: www.bookwhen.com/eds
Q) If I start part way through the term, what will it cost?
A) You can either pay for the whole course, or you can pay the weekly drop-in fee, depending on what works out as most cost effective for you. This will depend on how many weeks of term are left.
Q) Do I have to register/enrol for classes?
A) Yes please! This helps us to manage class sizes and payments. If you'd like to book, please follow our booking link here: www.bookwhen.com/eds
Beginners
Q) I'm a complete beginner and...
A) Welcome to the wonderful world of dance! You've found a great studio to start dancing. At Eastbourne Dance Space we offer classes for adult dancers no matter what their age and previous experience, and that includes the complete beginner with 'two left feet'!
Classes
Q) Do you provide classes for adults?
A) Yes, absolutely. Eastbourne Dance Space is designed especially to provide access to dance for adults of all ages. We start where the normal dance schools stop, and there is no age limit to make you stop if you don't want to.
Q) Do you provide classes for children?
A) We don't try to complete with regular dancing schools, as such we don't take students below the age of 16. There are many opportunities for children in the Eastbourne area, and a number of good schools covering all the major dance styles.
Q) What happens if I miss a week or two due to illness or holiday?
A) I'm afraid we can't offer a refund in these circumstances - your payment secures your space in class for when you get back, and ensures that we can continue to cover costs.
Q) If I join a class and decide it's not for me, what happens?
A) We advise that it takes at least a term to get used to a class, so would urge you to continue! However, if you feel the class is the wrong level for you, we can transfer you to a different class which suits you better (provided there is space in the class).
Q) What level class should I go for?
A) This very much depends on your previous dance experience. Do get in touch with us and we can advise. One tip - if you haven't danced for some time and are coming back to it, it never hurts to do a lower-level class to build back strength and technique! You can always move up the following term!

Q) Can I start in the middle of a term?
A) Yes! But we ask that you book in and pay as above so that we know you're coming!
Q) How big are the classes?
A) Classes are currently limited to 20 dancers which is the number of dancers that our venues can safely accommodate. Class sizes do vary but this is the maximum number.
Q) What's the typical age range in the classes?
A) The age range varies with the style of dance. We always say we take anyone from 17-70 (and beyond!).
What to wear
Q) What should I wear to class?
A) Whatever makes you feel comfortable and allows you to move freely. Seriously, you don't have to invest in a special wardrobe. A pair for leggings or sweat-pants plus a T-shirt is fine for all the dance classes we provide.
Q) What about shoes?
A) For ballet you can survive with a spare pair of socks until you get the chance to drop around to your local dance shop and pick up a pair of ballet shoes.
Jazz can be taken in bare feet or jazz shoes. Contemporary is traditionally taken in bare feet.
Tap requires tap shoes. We do have a few spare pairs depending on size, so get in touch if you are a beginner and we can see if we can lend you a pair whilst you try your first class or two.
